I like Skid Row, I used to listen to them a lot when I was young. I think that may be the whole point behind The Ataris, but I like the Ataris version of this song much better than the original.See the Full Post with Videos!
This isn’t just a cover song, this is a cover of Mother Love Bone. Mother Love Bone’s singer Andrew Wood died shortly before the release of their first album, and members of the band joined up with a couple of other guys to form Pearl Jam. It’s a haunting cover, to say the least.See the Full Post with Videos!
One of the great american guitar riffs makes up the intro of this song. Lenny Kravitz absolutely rips this song up adding his own American style to the Canadian band The Guess Who.See the Full Post with Videos!
I grew up listening to 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music since that was my parents music, and Eric Clapton was always one of my favorites. I don’t remember much of Bob Dylan though, maybe they weren’t big fans. I think in this case the cover is better than the original.See the Full Post with Videos!
Kottonmouth Kings took this old school rap song which was a great, original song with a unique sound, and turned it into a stoner song. Which is AWESOME. It’s got a great sound, the lyrics are changed to fit the band well, and it’s a great 420 song.See the Full Post with Videos!
I love 80’s music for some reason, maybe because I grew up in the 80’s, at least until I was a teenager. The Ataris do a pretty good job covering some 80’s songs like this Don Henley one, but they don’t add too much originality to them.See the Full Post with Videos!
Dead or Alive, this song is Dope… ok that’s a terrible pun, but that’s ok because this is a sick cover. I love the modern grit added to the 80’s synth sound. Never been a big fan of either band, but this song is still good from both bands.See the Full Post with Videos!
Marilyn Manson did what he does to make this song good, he added his own sound to it, making it gritty and grungy, making it his own, while not taking too much of the original feel and sound from the song. It had a feel similar to the Rob Zombie Halloween remakes.See the Full Post with Videos!
This is one of those cover songs, that while not much was done to change it, or make it their own, they certainly added their superior musician skills to make the song one of the most memorable cover songs around.See the Full Post with Videos!
I was a huge fan of Ministry back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, but I have to say Static-X doing this cover is one of the few times that I really like the cover better than the original. They just seem to get the sound exactly right for this song.See the Full Post with Videos!
